22 Jul - Feast Day Celebrations Update

8 Jul - Feast Day Celebrations Update

24 Jun - Feast Day Celebrations 2023

This year, St Mary’s will be celebrating our Feast Day from 27 July to 30 July 2023, where we remember and celebrate once again God’s extravagant love and mercy poured out to us through the Portiuncula Indulgence, which St Francis of Assisi obtained from Jesus through the intercession of the Virgin Mary.

And in the footsteps of St Francis who rebuilt the little chapel of St Mary of the Angels, our parish has initiated a proposal for a project that is long overdue: we are hoping to build a wheelchair access ramp with a new entrance point from the HDB blocks & market that will better serve the those struggling with the steps as they enter the church: the elderly, the wheelchair bound and young families with strollers. We are in the process of seeking approvals. We will be organising fundraising events to support our Maintenance Fund, part of which will be channelled to this project.

Liturgical Celebrations

Thursday 27 July, 10am

Celebrating the Mercy of the Cross with our Elderly & Sick - Holy Mass with Anointing

The parish would like to unite with our sick and elderly, to extend the immense goodness and mercy of God through this celebration of Holy Mass with Anointing. This will be followed by fellowship and a special reception prepared for them. Registration is required to cater for food, logistics & transportation. (All are welcome to attend the Mass.)

Note: There will not be the usual 12.15pm weekday Mass.

Friday 28 July, 7.30*pm

Celebration of The Pardon of Assisi

Our church is named after a little chapel in Assisi, in which several significant events and encounters took place for St Francis. As a community and parish, we reflect on and celebrate the gift of God’s mercy, poured out to us through the Portiuncula Indulgence, also known as the Pardon of Assisi.

*Update: Please note the amended timing for this programme.

Fundraising Events & Activities

The Parish has initiated the process and come up with a proposal to build a wheelchair-access ramp that will run from a new entry point at the market side of the church. For more information about our proposed ramp building project, click below.

The estimated cost of building this ramp is $150K to $200K.
Thus we will be organising some Fundraising events and activities in the runup and during our Feast Day weekend.
