Children’s Liturgy of the Word

for P1 & P2
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a parish-based program which seeks to develop in children an appreciation of the word of God. This is accomplished by gathering the children separately from the adults during Masses and using simplified Scripture texts and interactive preaching directed at increasing an understanding of the Scriptures in young children.
At St Mary’s, all Primary 1 & 2 children attend Children’s Liturgy (CL) of the Word as part of their faith formation process. The main objective of CL is to help our children fall in love with the person of Jesus through listening to the gospel. Through skits, videos, stories - we try to make the gospel come alive for the children and more importantly, to link the lessons that Jesus share with application to their daily lives. It is the Mass made accessible to the kids.

Online Children’s Liturgy
These videos were created for younger audiences during the pandemic period from 2020 to 2022, with themes following closely to the liturgical calendar and archdiocese catechetical guidelines. Parents are encouraged to watch with their children, which provide parents and children with specific points of discussion and reflection.
(With the resumption of face-to-face classes in 2023, new Children’s Liturgy videos will no longer be created.)
