Reconciliation/Confession
Through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we are reconciled to God the Father through the Cross and Resurrection of Christ, and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Confessions are held at the Confessionals in the Main Church. No appointment is needed.
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays:
Half an hour after the 6:30pm Mass.
Weekends:
Saturdays: 5.30 – 5.50pm
Sundays: 10.30 – 10.50am & 4.30 – 4.50pm
NOTE: Confessions may not be available at the above timings when the parish friars are away and external priests are assisting to celebrate Masses during their absence. Thank your for your understanding.
Making a Confession
The Sacrament of Reconciliation proceeds in three parts.
Confession. You give an account of your sins. For a fruitful Confession, you can prepare by making an Examination of Conscience, reflecting on what sins you have committed and why.
Absolution. Say the Act of Contrition. Through the ministry of the Church, the priest absolves you of your sins.
Penance. You complete some form of prayer or sacrifice, as prescribed by the priest. This helps to reform and reorient your soul.
There is no fear in Confession, for it is an encounter with God’s mercy. Bare your wounds to him, and he will pour the balm of his love upon you.
