PASTORAL YOUTH WORKER (Full-Time)

About the Role
You will be part of a team of volunteers helping youths grow to know and love Christ more. The team consists of more than four persons with different and complementary professional backgrounds primarily responsible for the faith development of the youths in the parish. A team of youth leaders is also part of the team, of which, you would have to organize and coordinate their efforts towards community building and growing in discipleship. You would have to work closely with the Parish Friars, the Youth and Young Adult Office Coordinators, and other parish leaders to contribute collaboratively to the growth of the parish. You are generally a service-oriented professional who is nurturing, a problem solver, a team player, and has good team management skills. The work may take place in the parish, in the community, in the home of the youths, at home, and even online.
Job responsibilities and main duties are pastoral care and community building. Pastoral care relates to the meaningful engagement with the youths and their faith development. Community building relates to the support of their activities, outreach and engagement with the confirmands. You see the image of Christ in each youth and see their potential. You devise programme to develop them. Your believe in them, your support, guidance, and engagement, give them the confidence to be an Apostle of Christ, chasing after the heart of Jesus with fortitude and vigor. Where needed, some of the following (but not limited to it) may be carried out as well.
Conduct home visits

Preferred achievements/characteristics
Higher NITEC or Diploma or Degree in Youth Work, Psychology, Counselling or Social Work from a recognized institution
3 years of experience working in a youth or family intervention or community care environment
Have experience working with clergies, church groups, and or church organizations
A good communicator and someone with a strong sense of Christian purpose and mission
Work in collaboration with the team and all relevant for stakeholders
