Filipino Community

WHO ARE WE

We are a Filipino Language Community made up of Filipino parishioners of St Mary of the Angels who actively participate in the parish's many functions and activities.

OUR MISSION

  1. To gather the Filipinos as a distinct cultural community and observe some of the unique expressions, traditions, and celebrations of our nation.

  2. To serve as a voice for the unique challenges and concerns of our people.

  3. To serve as a gateway for new Filipino parishioners to find a channel to grow their charisms.

  4. We connect Filipinos to the parish's many ministries.

BRIEF HISTORY

We started as a small group of Filipinos who pray the rosary regularly and celebrate traditional expressions of our Catholic faith like Simbang Gabi and Visita Iglesias. We also celebrate some of our country's holidays like Independence Day. As the number of active Filipino migrant workers grew in attendance, the pioneers organically drew together and merged into one community to become the "Filipino Community".
