 APR 2022: The Outreach Office’s partnership with The Social Kitchen (TSK) has come to an end.
What started out as a project to provide work opportunities for persons with special needs, has reaped fruits far beyond our imagination. The opportunity to work in St Mary’s TSK kitchen provided hands-on experiences that boosted the confidence and built the character of persons with special needs. Individuals are now working in commercial kitchens serving the public.

it pledges to provide employment to disadvantaged individuals,
including persons from low-income families, single parent families,
persons with disabilities and their caregivers and family members.

How it Began

The Social Kitchen Pte Ltd (TSK) is a social enterprise that provides employment to the vulnerable communities. Launched in August 2020, TSK partners community and global organisations such as YMCA and Unilever to operate their kitchens, cafes and restaurants. Founded by Ang Kian Peng and Alvin Yapp, winners of the President’s Volunteerism and Philanthropy Award, TSK works with well-loved local heritage F&B brands and innovative F&B concepts such as plant-based products.

 The Social Kitchen x Ginger Pantry at St Mary of the Angels


At its third outlet in Singapore, The Social Kitchen has teamed up with Ginger Pantry to launch a takeaway/delivery outlet at Church of Saint Mary of the Angels. An established homegrown brand, Ginger Garden Dining owns and operates multiple concepts including The Halia, The Villa, Halia Catering, Provisions Store, Garden Events Singapore, Halia Pantry and now Ginger Pantry.

At The Social Kitchen x Ginger Pantry @ St Mary’s, the menu is grouped into three categories: From The Garden, From The Stove, and From The Oven, offering an array of hearty and wholesome options.

Diners can savour creations like Singapore-style Chilli Crab Spaghettini ($15), cooked in a spicy, sweet, and tangy chilli crab sauce, as well as the refreshing Lemongrass & Ginger Prawn Salad ($11) with fresh mango and tomato salsa and ginger flower dressing. Other highlights include the Smoked Duck Salad ($11) and the moreish Seafood Gratin ($13) of Pignolina pasta with smoked salmon, mixed cheese, herbs, cream and lemon.
