“Praised be You my Lord through our Sister, Mother Earth
who sustains and governs us, producing varied fruits with colored flowers and herbs.”
- St Francis, Canticle of the Sun
Fioretti di San Francesco comes within the auspices of the Outreach Office at St Mary of the Angels. Based on the principles and values of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si’, our Ministry strives to cultivate love and care for creation amongst our community in the footsteps of St Francis.
We are a very new ministry that was just launched on 22 April 2022 (🌏Earth Day). If you would like to get involved in shaping this ministry or to be informed of our activities, just click the button below the page to register!
Introducing Fioretti di San Francesco
What’s in a name?
Fioretti di San Francesco means “Little Flowers of St. Francis”. This is the title of the book containing the stories of St Francis’ love for all of God’s creations and how he treated them as his brothers and sisters.
Flowers are beautiful, gentle and joyful symbols of creation and their presence always signifies a healthy ecosystem. We wish that this gentleness and joyfulness be the approach we take towards guiding our community towards more love and care for our common home. And like flowers, that our little actions will eventually bear fruit that yields beautiful outcomes.
St. Francis was also deeply devoted to Mother Mary. And we want to bring this same devotion to her – imagine how this is a humble bouquet of devotion we are offering to Mother Mary, with little flowers symbolising the little actions we can take to love creation.
What’s happening?
Guided nature walks, workshops, recycling projects are some of the programmes we are planning to run in 2022.
